Next week I have the pleasure of being part of two very exciting and very different events.
Monday (April 16th) evening at 7-9pm, at the Gardiner Museum, I will be participating in Soundstreams’ Salon 21. I will be speaking about the current state of composition with Lawrence Cherney of Soundstreams, as well as with notable Canadian composer Brian Current. The event will also feature some of our respective musics, including an improvisational performance by yours truly, as well as an additional performance of my 2003 composition “A Timid Statement” by Ilana Waniuk (of Thin Edge New Music Collective) and Suhashini Arulanandam! So if you missed the Thin Edge concert on April 6th, this an opportunity to hear my piece. I’m very pleased to be taking part. And good news… the event is free but it’s recommended that you register! Facebook event here.
On Thursday (April 19th), I am honoured to be performing to at an event commemorate the relocation of voraciously good-vibes Canadian music blog, Weird Canada from Edmonton to Toronto! On the bill, I’m flanked by Mark Templeton and amazing T-dot psych mogul Matthew “Doc” Dunn (of MV + EE, Transcendental Rodeo, and many others). Show time is 8pm! Facebook event here.
